LCL Fleet Allocator

About the role

As the LCL Fleet Allocator at INTERPORT CARGO SERVICES PTY LTD (BRISBANE), you will play a critical role in managing the company's Less Than Container Load (LCL) fleet operations. In this full-time position based in Lytton, QLD, you will be responsible for efficiently allocating and coordinating the movement of the LCL vehicles to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.

What you'll be doing

1. Plan daily fleet schedules based on shipment volume and delivery timelines

2. Speaking directly with drivers about run plans and adjustments.

3. Liaising with the depot & warehouse teams to ensure seamless coordination of pickups, deliveries and any special requirements

4. Monitor driver progress and address delays or operational issues

5. Ensure drivers comply with safety and transport regulations

6. Liaise with customers and freight forwarders about delivery schedules

7. Provide updates on shipment status and resolve service issues

8. Identify backloads and combine freight where possible

9. Identifying opportunities to improve fleet efficiency and making recommendations to management

10. Work with subcontractors, depots and interstate partners as required

What we're looking for

1. Relevant experience in a similar fleet allocation or logistics coordination role, preferably within the road transport industry

2. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to quickly adapt to changing circumstances

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise effectively with various stakeholders

4. Proficient in using fleet management software and data analysis tools

5. Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols and best practices

6. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work well in a team environment
