The Opportunity
We are seeking a qualified Refrigeration Mechanic. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful, real-world work in an environment where safety, reliability and professional standards are essential. You’ll be part of a team delivering technically complex outcomes with clear expectations and support.
What You’ll Be Doing
Liaising with the field staff and ensuring regular reports are completed on maintenance and project work
Providing technical support for field staff
Preparing customer quotes and scheduling works
Taking direction from senior management and coordinate / control production requirements and budgets
Liaising with clients, suppliers and managers in an efficient and timely manner
Assisting with customer queries and resolve them in a timely manner
Producing accurate reporting for clients on and off-site including progress updates, completed projects, and associated relevant documentation
Tracking job progress and producing regular accurate reports to the direct line manager and upper management
Contributing to the delivery of safety-critical technical outcomes
Working within defined processes and governance frameworks
Collaborating with experienced specialists and stakeholders
Applying sound judgement in complex environments
Supporting continuous improvement and learning

Technical, Regulatory & Mandatory Requirements
Some roles at AVI operate in highly regulated, safety-critical environments. For these positions, specific qualifications, certifications or specialist experience are required.
Mandatory Requirements
Proven experience in a Commercial/Industrial environment
Hold a current Refrigeration Mechanic trade qualification & Refrigerant Handling License (RAC)
Hold a current Restricted electrical licence
Hold a current LVR and CPR (1- year validity)
Hold a White Card
Must be an Australian citizen to travel overseas on sensitive business
Must be eligible to apply for security clearance
Reliable, proactive, and team-oriented
Self-motivated and ability to increase company targets
Strong work ethic, enthusiastic and conscientious with a flexible approach
Current driver’s licence.
These requirements are essential due to regulatory, safety or operational obligations.
