We are now seeking an Academic Operations Manager who enjoys building systems, solving operational challenges, and leading academic delivery teams in a growing RTO environment.
The Role: This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for owning and managing the day-to-day academic delivery and training operations of the organisation. You will act as the central point of accountability for academic operations, ensuring that training delivery, assessments, trainer performance, student progression, and academic compliance run smoothly and consistently. You will work closely with trainers, student support teams, compliance staff, and senior leadership to maintain high standards of training delivery while continuously improving operational systems as the organisation grows. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building operational structure, improving systems, and managing complex training environments.
Our Delivery Model: ATT operates a milestone-based delivery structure designed to support flexible learning pathways. Students progress through: I. Milestone-Based Theory ProgressionCourses are structured into milestones that group theory units into logical learning stages. II. Practical Workshop Blocks Students attend scheduled practical workshops once milestone theory is completed. III. Structured Academic SupportWeekly tutorial sessions support students who need help progressing through theory. This system enables:rolling student intakesfaster completion pathwaysscalable training delivery The Academic Operations Manager will play a key role in refining and scaling this delivery model.
Key Responsibilities:I. Academic Delivery & Operational ManagementOwn and oversee the day-to-day academic delivery of all qualificationsEnsure workshops, assessments, and training schedules run smoothlyMonitor student progress, milestone completion, and assessment turnaroundIdentify delivery bottlenecks and implement solutionsAct as the escalation point for academic delivery issues II. Trainer & Assessor LeadershipProvide operational leadership to trainers and assessorsAllocate trainer workloads and manage delivery capacityMonitor trainer performance, delivery quality, and consistencyEnsure trainers maintain required qualifications, industry currency, and professional developmentSupport trainers with assessment decisions and delivery challenges III. Assessment Quality & ValidationEnsure assessments meet principles of assessment and rules of evidenceOversee assessment quality, marking consistency, and turnaround timesLead trainer validation sessions and continuous improvement activitiesEnsure training and assessment strategies (TAS) are implemented effectively IV. Compliance & Academic GovernanceEnsure training delivery complies with RTO Standards 2015 and the NVR ActWork closely with compliance personnel to maintain audit readinessIdentify compliance risks and implement corrective actionsSupport internal audits, self-assurance activities, and regulatory responses V.
