Practice Manager – Daintree Psychiatry

Daintree Psychiatry is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead the administrative operations of our Stafford clinic in Brisbane while also supporting our nursing team in Townsville. The focus of the role is to ensure the practice runs efficiently, clinicians are well supported, and patients experience a professional and well-coordinated service.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will bring structure, improve workflows, and support the ongoing growth of the practice.

The role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Practice Manager will oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the Stafford clinic and coordinate closely with the nursing team in Townsville.
You will ensure systems, people and processes work effectively so the practice operates smoothly. The role also involves identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen workflows, and support the continued growth of the practice.
This is a practical leadership role requiring someone who is comfortable working both in the operational detail and in driving improvements across the practice.
Key responsibilities
Overseeing daily administrative operations at the Stafford clinic
Leading and supporting the administration team, setting expectations and maintaining high service standards
Coordinating clinic operations with psychiatrists and the Townsville nursing team
Managing rosters, appointment scheduling and clinic workflow
Monitoring operational performance, service standards and key practice metrics
Identifying and implementing process improvements that streamline administration and improve efficiency
Supporting compliance, quality improvement and risk management requirements
Managing patient enquiries and complaints professionally and ensuring issues are resolved appropriately
Building strong working relationships with clinicians, patients, referrers and external stakeholders
Driving recruitment activity to support the continued growth of the practice, including assisting with onboarding new staff and clinicians
What success looks like short term.
The administration team feels organised, supported and clear on priorities
Clinic scheduling and workflows operate smoothly with minimal disruption
Communication between the Stafford clinic and Townsville nursing team is consistent and effective
Several practical improvements to processes or workflows have been implemented
Key operational processes are documented and easier to train and replicate
SOPs are developed and implemented
Recruitment initiatives are underway to support the next stage of practice growth
What you’ll bring
Minimum three - four years’ experience in practice management or healthcare administration leadership
Experience managing healthcare administration teams, ideally in a specialist or private practice environment
Strong organisational and operational management capability
Confidence working alongside clinicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Excellent communication skills and professional judgement
Strong documentation, reporting and process management capability
A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to identify and resolve operational friction points
Experience supporting recruitment or workforce growth in healthcare would be highly regarded
