Bourke Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (BACHS) is seeking a Practice Nurse to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team in Bourke, NSW. This ongoing permanent position offers a unique opportunity to work in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service delivering high-quality, culturally safe primary health care to community.

About the role

As the Practice Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality primary health care services within the clinic and community.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical nursing care including assessments, triage, wound care and care planning

  • Supporting chronic disease management programs including diabetes, cardiovascular and respiratory care

  • Delivering preventative health initiatives including immunisations and health screening

  • Assisting GPs with procedures and care coordination

  • Working closely with Aboriginal Health Practitioners to deliver culturally safe care

  • Supporting health promotion and community outreach activities

  • Contributing to clinical quality improvement and best practice primary care

This role offers broad clinical exposure and the opportunity to develop strong primary health, chronic disease and rural health nursing skills.

About you

You’ll bring:

  • Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration

  • Experience in primary care, general practice, community health or rural health (highly desirable)

  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills

  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • A commitment to culturally safe care and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health

  • Current driver’s licence

Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation is highly regarded but not essential.
