The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join our Power team, based in Landsdale. The ideal candidate will have strong product knowledge within the generator or power equipment industry and a proven ability to identify new opportunities, build lasting client relationships and expand our market presence.

Based in Landsdale and reporting to the General Manager - Power, the responsibilities of this role are:

  • Identify and generate new business opportunities via outbound calls, networking, referrals, and site visits

  • Qualify prospects based on sector fit, project scale, and commercial viability

  • Establish contact with decision-makers to understand technical and commercial requirements

  • Assess whether the opportunity fits the company’s capabilities and strategic goals

  • Prepare and present compelling technical and commercial proposals

  • Refine solutions based on client feedback to optimise win probability

  • Lead negotiation of pricing, terms, and delivery timelines

  • Navigate objections and stakeholder concerns with professionalism and confidence

  • Secure formal commitment and ensure documentation is processed accurately

  • Facilitate a clear and thorough handover to internal sales, logistics, and operations teams

  • Remain available during early delivery stages to ensure client satisfaction and address any immediate issues

  • Confirm delivery dates, expectations, and any customer-specific requirements

  • Maintain client contact for follow-ups, account development, and upselling

  • Track client satisfaction and gather feedback to feed into continuous improvement

  • Identify opportunities for repeat business, referrals, or broader solutions

What you must have

  • Proven experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably in the industrial or power generation sectors

  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical and business concepts and express them in clear language

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communicational skills

  • Ability to upsell, cross sell across entire product suite, negotiate, and close deals

  • Strong planning, organisation, and independent work capabilities.

  • Proficient with  CRM, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Power BI

  • Ability to manage competing priorities within tight timeframes, while maintaining attention to detail

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
