About the Role 

As our new National Business Development Manager in Major Projects, you will own the growth of major project opportunities by engaging early with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, consultants and key infrastructure stakeholders. Your day to day focus will be on proactive market engagement, identifying upcoming projects, influencing tender development early, and positioning Iplex as a trusted, value adding partner well before quotes are issued. This role is highly relationship driven and requires regular site visits, contractor meetings, briefings and industry engagement.

You will lead opportunity development from early identification through to tender submission, working closely with estimating, technical, initiation and delivery teams to coordinate commercially strong, well aligned submissions. Using market intelligence, customer insights and pipeline data, you will actively manage and prioritise opportunities, track conversion and win rates, and contribute directly to revenue growth, margin improvement and overall pipeline outcomes.

What Skills are Needed 

  • Proven experience in business development, sales or major projects environments 
  • Strong relationships with, or exposure to, Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors 
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and convert a qualified project pipeline 
  • High level of commercial acumen, including pricing, margin and bid strategy awareness 
  • Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable influencing at multiple levels 
  • Highly driven, proactive and motivated by growth, targets and market presence
  • Previous experience in designing and presenting to major clients
  • Excellent skills in data analysis, telling stories with data and making effective decisions 
  • Ability to travel interstate
