About our school

St Mary’s Primary School is situated in the historic Queensland provincial city of Ipswich, 45 km from Brisbane CBD. Our beautiful, historical architecture of sandstone buildings are a visual reminder that quality Catholic Education has been delivered on our site for over 150 years We are a co-educational school with a current enrolment of 575 students from Prep through to Year 6. The dedicated teaching and support staff endeavour to provide high quality, inclusive education by providing engaging learning activities that support not only students' academic advancement but also their personal growth based upon a Catholic Christian tradition. About the opportunity

Join a supportive and collaborative school community, where teachers are well-supported through access to learning support staff, as well as coaching and mentoring from Learning Enhancement and Engagement Specialist.

If you are passionate about the holistic education and growth of students, with a focus on teacher student relationship, teacher curriculum clarity and professional development, as well as student curriculum challenge come and join our teaching team for the remainder of 2026!

In this position you will be responsible for:

Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices
Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community
Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture
Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development
Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
