Family Day Care Educator (NOT CHILD CARE EDUCATOR)

POSITION OBJECTIVE

· To provide care and education to children in the comfort of your home

· To provide and maintain quality care and a safe environment in a nurturing and friendly home setting.

· To provide this care within the rules and regulations of the National Quality Framework.

· To provide care within Dream Family Day Care Scheme’s Policies and Procedures, Mission Statement, Goals and Philosophy.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

. Only Family Day Care Educators wanted, not child care educator.

· Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or Children’s Services (Must be completed, not in the process of studying)

· First Aid management (refresher as relevant)

· CPR training (refresher as relevant)

· Anaphylaxis management training (refresher as relevant)

· Asthma management training (refresher as relevant)

· Working With Children Check

· Family members/ residents of family day care 18 years and over must have a Working With Children Check

· Police check

· Family members/ residents of family day care who are above 18 years must have a Police Clearance

· Child Protection Training – CHCPRT001

· Food Handling Training

. Educator should be full vaccinated

Preferable

· Driver’s Licence

· Experience working in the Children’s Services Industry

. 4+ years of working as an educator in Early Childhood

NOTE: The maximum number of children who may be cared for or educated at each family day care residence is 7 children (including the Educator’s own children)of whom no more than 4 children may be under 6 years of age unless the children who are under 6 years of age are:

• Students enrolled at preparatory level or above at school; or
• Siblings who are not the Educators own children in which case no more than 6 siblings’ maybe less than 6 years of age.

NOTE: Pay is per hour per child.
