Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Prepare and organise educational resources, play materials, art supplies, and recreational equipment in advance of planned activities to support a structured and engaging environment
  • Monitor children’s behaviour, implement positive guidance strategies, and promote the development of appropriate social skills, emotional regulation, and respectful interactions
  • Design, facilitate, and lead developmentally appropriate educational and recreational activities that align with the children’s age, interests, and individual needs
  • Actively engage children in meaningful interactions through reading aloud, storytelling, singing, imaginative play, games, and other enriching experiences
  • Provide constant, vigilant supervision during all indoor and outdoor play periods, group activities, and free play to maintain a safe environment at all times
  • Support and guide children through daily routines, including mealtimes, rest periods, toileting, hand hygiene, transitions between activities, and preparation for departure
  • Assist children with personal hygiene and self-care routines (e.g., handwashing, toileting, nappy changes, dressing, teeth cleaning), while encouraging independence and the acquisition of age-appropriate self-help skills

Requirements

· Relevant Qualification and minimum work experience requirement (AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant experience) and 1-2 years of relevant work experience required.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.

· Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

· Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

· Background check clearance.
