Position Overview

Over the Hills Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high-quality educational program that supports children’s development, learning and wellbeing in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Framework (NQF).

The Early Childhood Teacher will work collaboratively with educators, families and the leadership team to create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement and evaluate engaging educational programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

  • Observe and document children’s learning and development to inform programming and planning.

  • Create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment that promotes children’s wellbeing and sense of belonging.

  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

  • Guide and support educators within the room to ensure high-quality practices are maintained.

  • Ensure the learning environment is welcoming, stimulating and developmentally appropriate.

  • Participate in reflective practice and contribute to continuous improvement processes within the centre.

  • Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations, centre policies and procedures.

  • Maintain effective communication with families regarding children’s learning, development and daily experiences.

  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture.

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA approved equivalent).

  • Current Working With Children Check (NSW).

  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education and care.

  • Previous experience working in a long day care setting.

  • First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training (or willingness to obtain).

  • Experience using childcare management and documentation platforms (such as OWNA).
