Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Ampol to deliver leading maintenance services to their Lytton Refinery in Brisbane.
We are seeking a Graduate Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. This role will:
ensure compliance, conduct risk assessments and investigate incidents
provide training and promote a culture of safety for wellbeing across teams
develop policies as/when needed

Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to relevant health and safety laws, regulations, and standards
Undertake critical risk inspections and assurance activities
Identify and assess potential workplace hazards
Propose and implement measures to control and mitigate identified risks
Develop and deliver health and safety training programs
Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace
Collaborate with various departments to address identified safety issues
Prepare and present regular reports on safety performance and initiatives
Act as a liaison between employees and management regarding safety concerns.
Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in health and safety practices
Pursue relevant certifications and training to enhance professional expertise.
Qualifications
Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety as a minimum
Understanding of health and safety laws, regulations, and industry standards
Trade background is desirable
Current high risk license/s
Sufficient at Microsoft 365.
Highly desirable
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Capacity to analyse situations, assess risks, and develop strategies to mitigate potential hazards
Quick and effective problem-solving skills to ensure a safe working environment
Understanding the concerns and perspectives of employees regarding safety issues
Effective 2-way communicator, comfortable with presentation of HSE presentations and programs, able to build strong working relationships with peers.
The successful candidate will undergo medical and background checks.
