The role focuses on building and maintaining outdoor spaces through the installation of hard landscaping elements—such as paving, retaining walls and pathways—and soft landscaping works, including turfing and planting, delivered in accordance with approved construction drawings. This is a hands-on, physically active role that requires strong teamwork, safe operation of tools and machinery, and a practical understanding of construction methods and materials.

The position is field-based and involves regular travel between project sites throughout South East Queensland.

Key responsibilities:

  • Site set-out & preparation: prepare sites by clearing areas, setting out works, improving drainage, and preparing sub-grades for construction
  • Hard Landscaping: construct paving, concrete works, retaining walls, fencing, pathways, and structural landscape elements for commercial and government projects.
  • Soft Landscaping: install turf, plant trees and shrubs, prepare soil and garden beds, and complete final landscape finishes
  • Machinery & Tools: operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently, following WHSEQ procedures
  • Working from Plans: read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site plans to deliver works accurately
  • Ongoing Works & Maintenance: assist with landscape maintenance tasks where required, including site clean-ups and minor remedial works
  • Commercial & Government projects

Skills & Qualifications:

  • White Card
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Police Check & Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Physically fit with the ability to work outdoors
  • Good attitude and ability to follow plans and instructions
  • 2-3 years construction / landscaping experience preferred

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $30.00 – $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
