Combined Community and SIL Support Worker

About the role

Far and Wide Support Services Pty Ltd is seeking a passionate and dedicated Community and SIL Support Worker to join our team in Moreton Bay, QLD. This is a casual role that will involve providing compassionate care and support to disabled members of our local community.

This is a position that is seeking employees who are dedicated to learning and looking for stable, consistent work and rosters.

What you'll be doing

1. Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping

2. Providing companionship and social engagement to help reduce isolation and promote well-being

3. Supporting clients to access community resources and attend appointments

4. Advocating for client needs and collaborating with other healthcare professionals

5. Maintaining detailed client records and documentation

6. Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols

7. Working in a team environment and supporting our SIL home participant/s

8. Assisting with inactive sleepovers and on-call emergencies.

What we're looking for

1. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar community support or caregiving role, or lived experience

2. A genuine passion for working with disabled individuals

3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

4. The ability to work independently and as part of a team

5. Excellent time management and organisational skills

6. A current driver's license and reliable vehicle - willingness to transport participants in personal vehicle

7. Current NDIS Worker Screening, Blue Card, and First Aid Certificate are required

8. Australian citizenship is required for this position
