ABOUT THE ROLE

Support Nest is seeking an experienced Male or Female Disability Support Worker to support a participant in Fawkner VIC 3060.

The participant has complex care needs including mental health challenges, ABI (Acquired Brain Injury), and stroke-related support requirements. The role requires a confident support worker experienced in providing personal care, behavioural support, and mobility assistance using hoists and Sara Stedy equipment.

This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, patient, and confident in supporting individuals with complex physical and psychosocial needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide personal care including toileting, showering, grooming, and dressing
• Safely assist with mobility using hoist and Sara Stedy equipment
• Support daily living activities such as meal preparation and medication prompts
• Provide emotional and behavioural support for participants with mental health needs
• Assist participants with ABI and stroke recovery support needs
• Monitor wellbeing and report changes or concerns promptly
• Maintain accurate case notes and incident reports in line with NDIS requirements
• Support community access and social engagement activities
• Follow the participant’s care plan and NDIS Practice Standards

REQUIREMENTS

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support / Disability / Aged Care (Essential)
• Manual Handling and Hoist experience (Essential)
• Experience supporting participants with Mental Health, ABI, or Stroke (Highly Preferred)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• Current First Aid & CPR
• National Police Check
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
• Access to a reliable, insured vehicle (preferred)
• Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
• ABN and Public Liability Insurance (preferred for contractors)

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

• Job Type: Casual
• Pay Rate: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour
• Location: Fawkner VIC 3060
• Shifts Available: Morning, Afternoon, and Night shifts
• Start Date: Immediate
• Schedule: Flexible availability required
