**Growing Food, Connection and Opportunity**
Cultivating Community is seeking to appoint Non-Executive Directors, including one Director who will undertake the role of Board Secretary, to join our Board and support the organisations next stage of impact and growth.
For almost three decades, Cultivating Community has worked alongside communities experiencing food insecurity, social isolation and barriers to employment. Through community gardens, urban green spaces, food education and employment pathways, we deliver practical programs that strengthen wellbeing, connection and opportunity.
**About the roles**
Non-Executive Directors share collective responsibility for the governance and strategic oversight of the organisation. Directors contribute to setting long-term direction, overseeing financial sustainability and risk, and supporting the CEO to deliver on the organisations mission and values.
We are seeking several Directors, including one Director who will take on the additional role of Board Secretary. The Board Secretary is a full Director of the Board and supports strong governance processes, including board documentation, compliance and governance records in partnership with the Chair and CEO.
**Skills and experience**
We are interested in hearing from candidates with governance experience and strategic capability, particularly in areas such as:
Commercial or social enterprise leadership
Risk, audit and compliance
People and culture governance
Property, infrastructure or capital projects
Government and public policy engagement
Digital systems and data governance
Systems thinking and place-based strategy
Lived experience aligned to our mission
Experience on a Board or an AICD qualification is desirable but not essential.
**Board Secretary (additional responsibilities)**
Candidates interested in the Board Secretary role should have experience in governance administration, company secretariat, compliance or Board operations, and strong written communication skills including preparation of board minutes.

68 Board meetings per year
12 strategy sessions annually
Committee participation where relevant
