Role Overview

As a Team Member at Schnitz Orion, you play a key role in delivering an outstanding guest experience. This role involves working across different areas of the restaurant including food preparation, cooking, customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Team members are responsible for ensuring Schnitz quality standards, food safety procedures, and operational consistency are maintained during every shift.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service

  • Deliver friendly and welcoming service to all guests
  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Provide product knowledge and menu recommendations
  • Handle customer enquiries professionally
  • Ensure guests have a positive dining experience

Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare menu items according to Schnitz recipes and procedures
  • Operate kitchen equipment including fryers and grills safely
  • Follow correct cooking times and product handling procedures
  • Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation
  • Assist in preparing fresh ingredients during shift preparation

Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Ensure correct handling of raw and cooked products
  • Maintain clean workstations and kitchen areas
  • Complete temperature checks and food safety procedures where required

Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with team members during busy service periods
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
  • Support team members to ensure smooth service operations
  • Maintain a positive and respectful team culture

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness in dining, kitchen, and service areas
  • Complete daily cleaning and closing duties
  • Ensure equipment and utensils are kept clean and organised

Skills & Attributes

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to food quality and safety
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible availability including evenings and weekends

Requirements

  • No previous experience required (training provided)
  • Food handling knowledge is an advantage
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks

Pay: Up to $37.51 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 38.0 per week
