  • Sydney CBD. Salary $180K - $200K + Super + Discretionary Bonus

Company Background

Richard Lloyd has been retained to recruit an upbeat, talented and hands-on Head of Finance. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing vertically integrated food business with a fun, energetic and entrepreneurial culture. Established by a passionate and driven founder, the business has quickly built strong market momentum and is continuing to scale.

The company is backed by a well-established group that provides strategic support and resources, helping the business grow while maintaining its unique brand identity.

Our client is entering its next phase of growth and is now seeking a lead finance professional to build the accounting function to support continued expansion.

The Role

This is a newly created leadership position with significant scope to shape the finance function and influence the direction of the business.

Reporting into a terrific CEO (who has a finance background), initially your role will be hands-on, overseeing all aspects of finance while evolving processes, systems and controls required to support a scaling organisation. Over time, you will play a key role in building out the finance team and evolving the function.

Key responsibilities include (not limited to):

  • Managing the end-to-end finance function

  • Oversee financial governance, reporting, and planning while supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation

  • Responsible for reporting requirements for key investors

  • Responsible for compiling the finance section of the board report

  • Implement daily/weekly/monthly reporting

  • Budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning

  • Provide commercial financial insights to the CEO and founders to support business growth and investment decisions

  • Building the financial infrastructure, systems and processes required to support growth

  • Managing and coordinating finance support resources

  • Financial business partnering and supporting stakeholders – e.g. operational areas such as inventory management, supply chain and demand planning

Your Background

The working environment is fast-paced and entrepreneurial, and the successful new Head of Finance will be comfortable operating in a dynamic business where priorities can evolve quickly. As the ideal applicant, you will meet the following criteria:

  • Professionally qualified as an Accountant (e.g. CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)

  • Relatable industry knowledge is a prerequisite, along with a strong grasp of inventory management and supply chain – e.g. food manufacturing, FMCG, retail, QSR etc..

  • Experience working in a business experiencing fast growth

  • Involvement/driving of process and systems improvement projects. Embracing of technology and automation.

  • A personality to match the brand – this role will be well-suited to a ‘people-person’ who enjoys business partnering whilst working in an upbeat culture.

  • Those who have worked in a Head of Finance capacity, or as a Finance Director, Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller with similar responsibilities to those outlined above, are encouraged to apply
