The Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Manager to join our Business Acceptance team within our Global Risk & Compliance function, on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis.

In this role you will lead part of the APAC Business Acceptance Team, to discharge the firm's legal obligations across all 32 offices worldwide, ensuring comprehensive conflicts checks, financial crime assessments and sanctions risk evaluations are undertaken on all clients and matters at inception and throughout the client relationship.

Key responsibilities of this role will include (but not limited):

• Protecting the firm's lawyers from sanctions and penalties from our professional regulators and crime enforcement agencies and other regulators for failure to meet our obligations to a sufficient standard. Taking ownership of decision-making with integrity and transparency, whilst empowering team members to exercise sound judgement in full compliance with the firm's policies and procedures.
• Ensuring the firm meets its anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing ("AML/ CTF ") obligations (and other associated requirements) worldwide.
• Demonstrating inclusive leadership in coaching and mentoring Business Acceptance Officers and Analysts to support their professional development and progression.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

• Demonstrable experience in Risk and Compliance in the professional services sector.
• Solid knowledge of AML/CTF obligations and conflicts of interest rules.
• Degree qualified in Law, Risk Management, Business, Politics, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Experience in managing or mentoring a team of four or more people.
• Ability to read and understand policy and local legislation from across the jurisdictions in which we operate.
• Experience of reporting to Senior Management on outcomes and performance.
• Experience in designing and delivering training programs.
• Experience in drafting process documents.
• Experience of international sanctions regulatory work.
