About Dcode Group
Dcode Group is a custom software development company founded in 2012, with offices in Melbourne (HQ), and Hanoi. We design and build web applications, platforms, and digital tools for government and enterprise clients. Our core stack includes Laravel/PHP, Vue.js, MySQL, and AWS.
We’re a tight-knit team that values clear communication, ownership, and delivering real outcomes for clients. We’re growing and looking for someone who can take charge of project delivery and client relationships so our developers can focus on building great software.
The Role
As Account Manager / Project Manager, you’ll be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients and the person responsible for making sure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard. You’ll bridge the gap between our clients and our development team, translating business needs into clear requirements and keeping work flowing smoothly.
This role is pitched at L2 (Mid) to L3 (Senior) in our competency framework. The right candidate will be someone who can manage full client accounts independently, plan timelines, lead meetings, track budgets, and flag risks before they become problems.
Responsibilities
Own client relationships. You will be the go-to person for updates, escalations, and strategic conversations about their projects and roadmaps.
Manage project delivery end-to-end: scoping, scheduling, resourcing, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
Oversee ticketing and task management, ensuring work is well-defined, prioritised, and progressing to plan.
Run stand-ups, sprint planning, and review sessions with development teams and clients.
Identify blockers early and drive resolution before they impact delivery timelines.
Coordinate across internal teams (developers, designers, QA) and external stakeholders to keep everyone aligned.
Contribute to proposals, quotes, and statements of work for new and existing clients.
Monitor project health such budgets, scope, timelines and flag risks proactively.
Track budgets and change requests accurately, with revenue and margin accountability at account level.
Conduct regular client account check-ins. Review project status, delivery health, risks, budget position, satisfaction and upcoming priorities to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Support continuous improvement of our delivery processes and tools.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years’ experience in project management, account management, or delivery lead roles within a software development or digital agency environment.
Strong understanding of agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and how to apply them pragmatically.
Excellent communication skills. You’re comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and equally effective working with developers day-to-day.
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
Familiarity with project and ticketing tools such as Jira, Asana, Linear, or similar.
A problem-solving mindset - you don’t wait for things to go wrong, you anticipate and act.
Exposure to web application development concepts (you don’t need to code, but understanding how software gets built is important).
Commercial awareness - you understand budgets, margin, scope creep, and how your decisions affect profitability.
Bonus Points
Experience working with government clients or in regulated industries.
Familiarity with Laravel, Vue.js, or AWS (even at a conceptual level).
Background in writing proposals, tenders, or statements of work.
Experience with resource planning and capacity management across distributed teams (including offshore).
Growth & Development
We have a clear L1–L4 career framework for Account Managers. Promotion is based on consistent demonstration of next-level behaviours, sustained performance, and business need. You’ll have visibility of exactly what’s required to progress, and regular feedback to help you get there.
What We Offer
Hybrid working. Flexibility to work from home with regular time in our Melbourne office.
A collaborative, low-ego team that genuinely cares about the work.
Interesting, varied projects across government and enterprise sectors.
A transparent performance framework with clear expectations and growth pathways.
Professional development support and a culture that encourages learning.
