We are seeking a proactive and technically-minded Business System Analyst to join our client-a prominent Local Government Council in Western Sydney. This role sits within the Business Applications Support team, where you will be responsible for ensuring the Council's business applications effectively meet community needs. You will manage one or two key corporate applications (such as Property, GIS, Library, or Facilities Management) across both on-premise and cloud environments. Key AccountabilitiesApplication Support: Provide second-level support to users, solving application problems in a timely manner to achieve business outcomes.System Administration: Undertake daily administration, monitor system performance, and perform upgrades or maintenance (some out-of-hours work may be required).Documentation & Training: Guide the preparation of software manuals and document system configurations and integration manuals.Continuous Improvement: Understand business processes and legislative needs to initiate activities that improve system efficiency and business services.Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Work closely with key users and vendors, conducting regular technical and governance working groups to set future directions.Collaboration: Work within a rotating team environment to ensure adequate coverage and develop competencies across various application areas.Technical Skills & ExperienceExperience: Minimum 3 years of proven experience supporting enterprise software solutions.Systems Knowledge: Experience in solutions such as SharePoint/SharePoint Online, SAP, Pathway, GIS, or Library Management Systems is highly advantageous.Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of relational databases and MS SQL queries.Analysis: Demonstrated high-level skills as a systems analyst working on complex software applications.Desirable: Experience in Power Platform, Azure Logic Apps, or web application solution design.QualificationsTertiary qualifications in Computer Science OR a minimum of 3 years in a similar role focusing on end-to-end maintenance of enterprise software.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.A flexible approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer-focused services.This role is a short term contract 3 months to start, with opportunity to extend. It is at an hourly rate of $47 - 52 per hour + Super. Please note only applicants with full working rights will be considered for this role.
