Your Role at St John of God, Midland Hospital As a Menu Management Coordinator, you will be leading the delivery of safe, patient-focused food services. You’ll coordinate and supervise the menu monitor team, manage patient dietary requests, and ensure meals meet nutritional, clinical, and special diet requirements. Collaborating with wards, dietitians, speech pathologists, and catering teams, you will process menus, track production, and respond to patient feedback to maintain service excellence. You will also manage menu data, support quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to accreditation and continuous improvement programs. The role requires excellent communication, organisational skills, and a commitment to teamwork, safety, and the organisation’s mission and values. The Position Support and promote the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care. Deliver excellent service and adhere to SJGHC Code of Conduct. Coordinate and supervise the menu monitor team. Liaise with wards/departments for accurate meal numbers. Collect, document, and process patient dietary requests. Report production numbers and special requests to Executive Chef/Chef. Communicate with patients, dietitians, speech pathologists, and nursing staff. Record and follow up on patient food feedback. Maintain recipe and menu data, including special diet fields, in the Menu Management System. Address system issues with relevant personnel. Support accreditation and quality improvement initiatives. Monitor patient feedback and implement improvements. Report team performance to Manager Patient Food Services. Attend training and maintain mandatory hospital competencies. Seek opportunities for professional development. Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and stakeholders. Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities. Adhere to OHS policies, report incidents, and use PPE as required. Promote a positive safety culture and minimize workplace hazards. Support SJGHC’s environmental stewardship and organisational goals. The Position Requirements You will demonstrate highly developed interpersonal, liaison, and telephone communication skills, along with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload to meet departmental needs. A solid knowledge of software applications, including Word and Excel, and an ability to understand the mechanics of software and system interfaces is essential. The role also requires the ability to train and support other caregivers, ideally you will possess previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment in a similar role, advanced computer skills, and familiarity with the Delegate Menu Management System. We can offer you Salary: $74,627 to $78,011 per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 12% superannuation.
