About The Role
The Assistant Accountant will provide effective, efficient, and reliable accounting services to Calvary Home Care (CHC). This role involves reviewing and reporting on key financial records and transactions within the CHC business, and providing evaluation and interpretation of results to the Head of Home Care Finance and key business stakeholders. The Assistant Accountant will also ensure that robust financial reviews are in place to maintain accuracy and support service excellence.
Your main duties will include:
Undertaking preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of accounts and general ledger accounts, including Medicare reconciliationsAssisting in preparation and analysis of benchmarking for submission to internal and external stakeholdersPreparing documents to facilitate meeting prudential and statutory obligationsProviding reliable and accurate data with a view to creating an effective narrative regarding financial resultsIn conjunction with the Head of Home Care Finance and Accountant(s), liaise with key business stakeholders in regard to operating results and financial process improvements
About You
Relevant qualifications, majoring in Accounting (eg Bachelor of Commerce)Previous experience in a similar positionPossesses or be eligible for membership to the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants or the Institute of Chartered AccountantsDemonstrated knowledge and experience with Finance Systems and strong Excel capabilityDemonstrated knowledge of Australian Accounting StandardsA desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
