An exciting opportunity exists for you to join the team as an accountant at our Botany NSW office.

 About the Role:

Reporting to the Group Accountant, this role is responsible for month‑end reporting, budgeting and forecasting support, cost and variance analysis, and the preparation of management reporting for stakeholders across Bidfood’s national operations. The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret financial results, and the discipline to maintain high reporting standards within a fast‑paced, multi‑site business environment.

About You:
You are a highly capable finance professional with demonstrated experience in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis. You maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, supported by strong analytical and communication skills. You operate effectively within structured reporting frameworks and deadlines, and bring a proactive and solutions‑focused approach to identifying risks, trends and efficiency opportunities.

You are confident engaging with senior stakeholders, capable of translating financial outcomes into clear business insights, and committed to upholding strong governance and compliance standards within the finance function.

Must be Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident immigration status.

Duties:

  • Preparing monthly management reports and financial performance commentary.

  • Supporting annual budgets and rolling forecasts, including variance analysis.

  • Conducting cost analysis across business units and identifying efficiency opportunities.

  • Performing month‑end journals, reconciliations and general ledger reviews.

  • Analysing financial and non‑financial data to support operational and strategic decisions.

  • Assisting with compliance documentation including GST, FBT and audit requests.

  • Contributing to continuous improvement of reporting processes, dashboards and models.

  • Perform other related duties as directed by the National HR Manager, National Payroll Shared Services Manager, CFO or CEO.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting, finance or management reporting.

  • Experience using Masterpack ERP or equivalent in a FMCG business.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capability.

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and communication skills.

  • Ability to engage and collaborate with staff and management to achieve business outcomes.

  • Knowledge of the foodservice industry is advantageous.

  • Master of Professional Accounting.
