Redeemer Lutheran College is a leading co‑educational Christian College nestled on 40 acres in Rochedale on Brisbane’s southside. With separate Junior and Senior Schools, modern learning spaces and an onsite Chapel, Redeemer is known across Brisbane and Logan for its strong academic reputation and its commitment to developing well‑rounded, values‑driven young people.

We’re seeking a detail‑driven, proactive Financial Accountant to undertake a range of duties which includes gathering and monitoring financial data, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, forecasting costs and revenues, and managing tax obligations to ensure statutory compliance. This role will analyse trends, costs, and revenue patterns to provide insights that support strategic decision‑making and help guide budgeting and financial planning processes. This is a fixed‑term, full‑time contract through to the end of 2026.

In this role you will be required to:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, oversee income/expenditure controls, complete reconciliations, and process accruals, journals, and authorisations.

  • Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements, BAS, GST and FBT obligations, and submit required government financial reporting.

  • Monitor College expenditure, manage cash flow, and liaise with financial institutions as needed.

  • Support budgeting processes, assist in developing the Annual Budget, and contribute to improvements in financial systems.

  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, conduct stocktakes, and stay up to date with relevant legislation and compliance requirements.

  • Provide backup payroll support when required.

To be successful in this role you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, plus certification as CA/CPA (mandatory)

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial accounting principles and regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with school‑related financial obligations whilst not mandatory, is an advantage.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills and the ability to deal effectively with all users, including students, faculty, staff, and administrative officers.

  • Must have the ability to effectively manage a frequently changing workload and work independently.
