Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant with approximately 3 years of professional experience. The role is responsible for supporting the finance function by ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations. The accountant will also provide support in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to assist business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Assist with the preparation of management reports, financial statements, and statutory reporting.

  • Cash flow forecasting and analysis

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.

  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

  • Collaborate with auditors, tax agents, banks and external advisors as required.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant tax obligations (BAS, GST, PAYG, etc.).

  • Contribute to process improvements and implementation of financial systems.

  • Assist with integration and transition to the new rental software system, including data validation, procedural updates, and finance workflow alignment.

  • Assist with implementation of the new chart of accounts across all business units, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and correct mapping of financial data.

  • Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance team.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA/CA (or working towards) highly regarded.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial work.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
