Company Accountant

This is a rare opportunity to step up into a standalone Company Accountant position within a stable, low staff turnover business that values professionalism, balance and long-term commitment.

Reporting to the Directors, you will take full ownership of the finance function. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working from the ground up and providing meaningful financial insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping: AR, AP, payroll, GL postings and adjustment journals, bank reconciliations, liaising with debtors
• Financials: Preparation of monthly financial statements, monthly management reports, BAS, cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting.
• Foreign exchange – generally completed by the Directors as a Forward Exchange Contract (FEC), or currency forward
• Supporting onboarding/offboarding of staff (TFNs, payroll, data collection) - low volume, 20 staff in the business
• Inventory management - Stock input, balances, adjustments into the stock warehouse system 
• FBT – car and entertainment - low volume 
• Ensuring accounting compliance with current AAS standards

About You

• Relevant commercial/ accounting degree
• 5+ years industry experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Forward-thinking and proactive
• Confident working autonomously as the sole Accountant, or look forward to stepping into a standalone role
• Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to provide financial insight in time
• Experience within import, distribution or wholesale environments will be advantageous
